from Frankfurt Airport to Frankfurt Central Station:

Look out for the regional trains ("Regionalbahnhof", "S-Bahn"), and its track no. 1.
Take any local train (S-Bahn lines S8 or S9) in direction of Hanau, Offenbach or Ostendstraße.
Frankfurt Central Station ("Hauptbahnhof") is the third stop (after Sportfeld and Niederrad).

from Frankfurt Central Railway Station to Goethe-University:

• By underground (U-Bahn):
  Take "U4" to "Bockenheimer Warte". The metro station is within the Central Railway Station (souterrain, northern side).
  
• By tramway:
  The stops are in front of the main exit of the Central Railway Station, eastern side. You will reach them by crossing the street in front of the main entrance of the train station.
  Tramway No. 16 (direction "Ginnheim") to Bockenheimer Warte.
