Budukh [budad mez].

Area of distribution

Budukh is spoken by the inhabitants of the village of Budukh, Kubinskij region of the Azerbaijan SSR.
Budukh is one of the southernmost Lezgian languages; it has about 1,000 speakers and is related more closely to Kryts than to any other language. Like the other southern languages Budukh underwent strong influence from Azeri. Budukh is probably the least studied language of the Lezgian group.
